Farmer for the Morning – Thursdays, beginning March 30
Come find the farmer in the barn and help them feed and give water to our livestock. Put out hay, collect eggs, sweep the barn and make sure the animals are happy and healthy for the day. This is a perfect outing for families with toddlers or preschoolers.
April Vacation – April 17-21st (Choose 1-5 days)
Spend April Vacation learning, exploring, and having fun at Wolfe’s Neck Farm! Educational programming for children in grades 3-5.
Spring Clean-Up Weekends – April 28-30th and May 5-7th
Each winter, Nature spreads leaves and debris throughout our beautiful campground, and each spring a group of fun, friendly volunteers come to help clean it up. In thanks for your help, we provide free camping and some meals! For more info or to register please call the campground at (207) 865-9307
Annual Plant Sale – Saturday, May 20th
Annuals, perennials, seedlings and more! Stop by the Farm on Saturday, May 21st from 9-1, and check out our great selection of plants donated by our friends, neighbors and volunteers! Rather than buying from chain stores that ship plants in from all over the world, why not support the Farm while enhancing your landscaping with local tried-and-true favorites? Admission to the Plant Sale is free.
Spring Festival – Saturday, June 3rd
Enjoy the warming weather by attending our family-friendly Spring Celebration. We invite local farms and other organizations to participate in our celebration and provide activities, crafts, games, and demonstrations. In past years, activities have included seed planting, felting, a scavenger hunt, nature weaving, crafts, and more. The Spring Celebration offers food, music, education and fun!
Farm-to-Table Event #1: “Summer Dinner” with Masa Miyake – Sunday, June 25th
Start your summer off with Masa Miyake at a plated 3-course traditional Japanese-style dinner at the Mallet Barn. Enjoy WNF vegetables, local fish and Miyake Farm pork, accompanied by great local drinks and dessert.
Farm to Fork Fondo – August 26-27th
Organized by Wrenegade Sports, visit Maine’s distinctive agricultural community with a bicycle ride to support local farmers and learn more about the region’s sustainable efforts. Enjoy a farm-to-table dinner feast, as well as a post-ride lobster bake, to complete the authentic experience on your summer weekend in Maine.
September Golf Outing – Tuesday, September 12th
Grab your clubs and hit the links! Join Wolfe’s Neck Farm for our annual Golf Outing at Highland Greens in Topsham. After you organize a team of four, the day is organized as a scramble. Prizes are awarded for low gross, low net, closest to the pin and longest drive. Registration also includes lunch.
Farm-to-Table Event #2: Tasting with Frontier and Gather/Farm to Easel Art Auction – Sunday, September 17th
Join us for an afternoon of great food from Frontier Café and Gather, and a live and silent art auction featuring local artists. Visit a variety of tasting stations for delicious food and bring home an original piece of art.
Harvest Dance – Saturday, September 23rd
The historic Mallet Barn provides the venue for our annual Harvest Dance! Enjoy beverages from Gritty’s as the music and dancing gear up for the evening. The Harvest Dance is a wonderful way to enjoy the season, the Farm, and a night out with friends.
Pumpkin Hayrides – Weekends in October
Our Pumpkin Hayrides run every weekend in October, Saturday and Sunday leaving on the hour from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Meet at the Little River Farmhouse and climb aboard the tractor for a ride out to our pumpkin patch. There you will learn about the life cycle of pumpkins and pick out your favorite pumpkin to take home with you.
Dempsey Challenge – October 7-8th
Farm to Farm Ultra Run – Sunday, October 8th
The Farm To Farm Ultra Run is a long-distance, road-running event in Freeport and Brunswick, Maine and consists of a 25K, 50K, 50 Mile, 50K Relay, 50 Mile Relay, 1K Kids Run, and cookout. Farm to Farm is a nonprofit event owned by the Maine Track Club and organized in partnership with the Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust and Wolfe’s Neck Farm.
Fall Festival – Saturday, October 14th
Our Fall Festival is a celebration of the year’s harvest. Similar to the Spring Celebration, we cooperate with local farms and organizations to provide activities including seed saving, hay climbing, activities demonstrations, pumpkin decorating and more. We also run pumpkin hayrides during the festival – take a tractor ride out to our pumpkin patch and pick your favorite pumpkin (additional cost). The Fall Festival also offers hot food and lively music. This is a great educational afternoon for families.
Farm-to-Table Event #3: Harvest Dinner with UNION – Sunday, October 15th
Come celebrate the harvest season at the Mallet Barn with friends and the Wolfe’s Neck Farm community. Feast on the harvest of the season with Chef Josh Barry and his team from UNION.
The Night Tree – Saturday, December 2nd
A holiday tradition for children, our Night Tree event is inspired by Eve Bunting’s book The Night Tree. Her story is about a family that feeds the forest animals by making decorations for a special tree. Each hour during the day, we read her story together, and then decorate pinecones with birdseed and string popcorn, dried fruit and cranberries. We take a short hike on the trails to leave these tasty treats in our woods for the animals.
