SPRING Programs

April Vacation Camp
For students in grades one to five. Join us for a day, or the whole week! Each day has a different theme: Monday - Animals on the Farm, Tuesday - Nature Around Us, Wednesday - Farmer for a Day, Thursday - Magic in the Woods, and Friday - Earth Day!

Spring Farm School
Spring time is prime time for learning about the farm. It is a busy time for plants and animals, creating many opportunities for learning and enrichment. We welcome school, civic and private groups to participate in our farm school programs.

All programs include a tour of the farm, and may be customized to suit each age and needs of your group.

Farm School Programs for Preschool to Grade Two

Animals on the Farm I
Tour the farm and visit our newborn, lambs (arriving in May/June), our goats, cattle, and chickens. Learn about how animals care for their young and the important products, such as wool, that come from our farm animals.

Nature Walk Tour the farm to visit with the animals, hen head out into the woods for a nature walk to look for signs of spring and explore our exciting forest habitats.

Plants Alive! I Explore our gardens and greenhouse through touch, taste, and smell. We'll examine seeds and search through the soil for helpful garden creatures, and learn about what plants and animals need to grow.

Farm School Programs for Grades Three to Eight

Animals on the Farm II Learn about the various animals on the farm, with a focus on lambs and ewes. Observe different breed characteristics compare physiology, and learn how farmers care for these animals and the products they give us.

From Farm to Table Explore food origins and gain an understanding and appreciation for the steps involved in bringing food and other farm products from the farm to our home and table.

Saltwater Wetlands Investigate our wetland habitats through hands-on explorations, play active games about wetlands ecology, learn about watersheds and protecting water quality through a problem-solving activity.

Plants Alive! II Explore our gardens and greenhouse, learn plant anatomy by dissecting a fruit or a vegetable, play an active game about seed survival rates, and discuss what seeds need to grow and how they are adapted for survival.

Spring Celebration & Earth Day Observance A day of fun hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy. Earth Day includes annual farm and shore clean up as well as trail building and maintenance opportunities.
